Why does nut allergy get worse with age? is this to due memory cells?

Don't know if anyone will be able to answer this it’s an immunology question. I think it’s because memory cells retain the ability to recognise nut allergens and the numbers of circulating antibodies presumably increase on subsequent exposure. Makes rational sense, though I can’t find a reference that agrees with me.
