Best friends baby is in the hospital?

My best friend had her son 5 weeks ago...he was 3.5 weeks early. He was born through c-section as her labour wasnt progressing (just some background info) Anyways...she is at the hospital with him right now. He has been pretty congested and having trouble breathing. She took him to the doctor a few days ago and they told her the usual saline, suction, vaporizor, steam. Well today he stopped eating and was screaming non-stop so she went to emergancy and they are still running tests but they think he has rsv and pneumonia. So my question is...what will they likely do for him? How serious is this...like is it life threatening or should he be ok? I am just so worried and scared for her. I live really far away and have a baby of my own so I cant go and be there for her.
