Opinion question if your city has more than one baseball team?

I moved from the Boston area to Iowa and back several times in my life and as such I have ended up becoming a Red Sox and Cubs fan. The Cubs play a lot of day games so I catch a lot of their games and cheer for them and then the Red Sox come on at 7. I see no contradiction. Tonight I enjoyed watching the Red Sox pound the Cubs. I cheer for the Cubs when I watch their games but there is no question the Red Sox are my team and if they play each other I am all for the Red Sox. Not quite the same as you were talking about but similar at the same time.
