I didn't understand the Adam and Eve story, care to explain ?

I don't think God made Adam and Eve perfect. They we're pure and without sin. For one they didn't know what sin was and they never did sin. But they still had freewill to do what God said or not. God told them if they eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, they would die. They didn't listen to God. So then they ate the fruit, they then knew what good and evil was, and that they sinned.
