What do you think of the names Harold or Harriet?

My Dad's name is Harold Julius and he has been fighting Emphysema for more than 10 years now, he is currently in the hospital yet again, but this time may not make it home. We had our names almost picked out but are now thinking of namimg the baby after my Dad! What do you think of Harold for a boy and Harriet for a girl! What nicknames could be used besides Harry for a girl???
