Does this solution to my computers issue make any sense?

I was having issues with my laptop not reading my built in wifi and none of the usb slots recognized anything i put in it. I tried every solution i found online and came up empty. Out of desperation i tried something i thought was silly and stupid to even try. I removed the battery and put it back in. When i turned the computer on everything worked again. Wtf? O.o
